The GazettE; the Past
Previously, i had posted this as a page on my tumblr- but now i realise that perhaps its better to just release it as a blog post instead. Here indeed is a short journey through the history of perhaps one of the worlds most influential modern Visual kei bands; The GazettE.
Okay, first of all, allow me to introduce to you all, the members of the band as they are today (2018). The GazettE are Ruki on vocals (centre), Aoi (first on the left) and Uruha on guitars (last on the right), Reita on bass (next to aoi),and Kai on drums (the only one left). Their rumoured real names are circulating on the internet (and with a simple google search, you shall find them), however since the boys came out with these names, i think its only fair to just address them as such. Also, although he may no longer be drumming for the band,Yune is also an extremely valuable asset to the band which should not be forgotten. There is also a chance that Yune may actually still be in the band if he had not have decided to leave in early 2003 due to personal reasons (some rumors state that his parents wanted him to engage more in his university studies).

• The same man that would end up fronting Ma'die Kusse, Tetora later joined カミカゼ少年團/Kamikaze Boyz as 弖虎 [Tetora] and ELM (エルム).
Gt. 悲敬 [??]
Real name, Sawada Yui, he to later joined Ma'die Kusse. Now he plays in GREEN HERB STRAIGHT TEA TIME as 沢田唯 [Sawada Yui]

Nothing much known about them either...other than the fact that Aoi was called 枣(Natsume)- which means Jujube- and Yune was called Dekith. Cool.
Artia
Artia
Artia was first formed around 6th of June 2001 and disbanded soon after, in late 2002 (source). From what i can tell, Artia only released one demo tape, and that was on the 26th of November, 2001. They had their first sponsored event on the 26th of November, 2001, at The Play House in Machida,Tokyo.as well and it is said that, in spite of having "lives planned through to January, 2002", the band disbanded after this live (source).

Lie: Chris / Kar+te=zyAnose
Kar+te=zyAnose were a short lived band that only preformed a couple of live performances, whilst under the Tokyo branch of Kasaki's indie label, Matina. Fun fact; Matina actually produced quite a few good sounding, yet short lived, groups during its time- one of which is Dué le quartz.
The band started their activities in the form of secret lives around the beginning of October, 2001, under the name L'ie: Chris. Initially, the first lineup had Kirua (now known as Ruki) on drums and Saki on vocals, but this particular lineup switched after the band changed its name to Kar+te=zyAnose on the 12th of November.
The band disbanded on the 13th of January, 2002 and did not release anything officially.

• There is no other information on Kanna but he was previously in a band called Ruinous, and a band called Jakou right before joining Kar+te=zyAnose.

• ex. before christ, adolf, dis eine, 鴉 and Ma'die Kusse. Kyouki changed his name to Uruha when he helped form The GazettE

Another band in which Kai is said to have replaced Yune on the drums. La'DeathtopiA was created in March of 2001, but disbanded the next year on the 18th of February.

Mareydi†Creia
Mareydi†Creia formed on July 13th 2000 in Tokyo, Japan and disbanded in 2002. This band perhaps, out of all the pre-Gazetto bands, had the longest running gig going on. Their full biography is here, but to sum it all up, Mareydi†Creia hd their first live in Saitama Prefecture on the 13th of July, 2000. The bands first drummer left around December, 2000. They released quite a few demo-tapes (most of which were limited and free). They had a pause in activities in and around the end of 2001, but resumed activities around mid 2002, with new drummer; 戒 (Kai). They officially disbanded on the 24th of December, 2002 (at the same place they had their first live).
Kai then moved on to join The GazettE in 2003, however the other members have not really been heard of since 2006 (and its pretty much suspected that they no longer preform in the Visual Kei scene)

ガゼット//Gazetto
Of course, the GazettE have a full discovery and biography available on Wikipedia, however this blog post would not seem complete without, at least, a short introduction to the start of Gazetto.
The GazettE came together after Kirihi (no known as Ruki), Kyouki (who now has changed his name to Uruha), and Ryouki left Kar+te=zyAnose and formed another band which they would call ガゼット (pronounced Gazetto). This was pretty much the members last attempt of creating a band and they soon recruited members Aoi and Dekith (now calling himself Yune) from Artia.
As a band signed to Matina (like Kar+te=zyAnose), they released their first song on the omnibus album, Yougenkyou ~mirrors of new generation~ moon and preformed at the「Matina 最終章」 ~FINAL PRELUDE~ live in the October of 2002. They preformed at their first solo live on Christmas day, 2002. Yune left in early 2003. Kai joined the band soon after, then they joined PS Company, and well ...y'all know the rest
